Knit Wits PDF Print E-mail

The KnitWits is a group of people that meet the 2nd-5th Sundays of every month year round.

Our purpose is to use our creative gifts for needle crafts to assist wherever there is need.

We have helped in different church, community, national, and international efforts.

People work on any project they desire, it just has to be for ministering to someone in need.

Since forming three years ago, the KnitWits have:
  • made blankets, hats, scarves and mittens for Camden Street Ministry to distribute to the homeless
  • made lap robes which were distributed at Stratford Nursing Home through LHBC Nursing Home ministry
  • made hygiene kits for an organization in OH called Global Knits (they distribute around the world to victims of natural disasters)
  • assisted with costumes for the Patriotic performance in the summer of 2010
  • assisted with preparing material for King's Christian High School students to make blankets for the homeless
  • donated afghans (Blessing Blankets) to Lady of Lourdes hospice patients
  • made "wordless book" bead bracelets for distributing at the summer Festival
  • donated baby hats and blankets to area hospitals
  • made small gifts for residents at Stratford Nursing Home
  • made sweaters for teddy bears given to grieving children
and many more things.
